This my own blend of sanding wax, which although untested should be 100% foodsafe too. It is made from only two components both British Pharmaceutical Grade, I use it for mostly when sanding, applied by brush or rag, prior to any sanding, this keeps the dust down and keeps the abrasive cooler, the abrasive will clog but can be cleaned easily with an old toothbrush or brass bristled brush. Working through the grits, by the time you get to your last abrasive there should be little residue left. I have applied oil and wax finishes over any residue without issue, but if I have any concerns over finish adhesion then I wipe any residue away with kitchen roll and a little solvent, (white spirit, meths, isopropanol). For food bowls, chopping boards etc, I add a few more coats after final sanding, allowing the the product to penetrate the wood, before buffing off.
